Good Evening Members and Friends!

I wanted to send a reminder about our upcoming virtual meeting featuring Garland Preddy from SGMP National! Check out her impressive bio below! Please attend if you can. Share this invite with your colleagues, even if they aren't members. The meeting is open to all interested planners and suppliers.

Garland Preddy has worked in events management for over 40 years and is a consultant to The Society of Government Meeting Professionals, managing and teaching the Certified Government Meeting Professional class, in addition to other training.

She is a respected teacher/trainer in the hospitality industry.  She was an adjunct professor at The George Washington University Events Management Programs for over 20 years and also served as an adjunct professor at George Mason University.

Garland was recently named to the Collinson Publishing 15 Over 50 for Planners.  In 2018 she was selected by SPIN for 40 Over 40, and in 2014, she was named a Trendsetter by Meetings Today, recognized for "her work in the embattled government meetings segment".  In 2012 she received the SGMP Planner of the Year Award.

Good Afternoon Members & Friends!

On behalf of the board, we hope that everyone is having a safe and enjoyable holiday season. As 2021 comes to a close and 2022 is around the corner, literally, we want to thank you for all that you've done for the meetings and events industry. It's been a rough two years. Next year is going to be just as challenging. We look forward to working with you to make it a solid year for government meeting planning! As always, we look forward to hearing from you on how we can make your membership more valuable (or what would encourage you to join!).

Supplier members - Keep us updated on what's going on at your property so we can share it with our members! We are looking for properties to spotlight in 2022! And speakers too!

Planner members - Let us know what challenges you are facing and we can work together to see if other members have tips or ideas! If you've got an idea for a meeting topic, or something you'd like to present on, let us know!

Also, please be sure to save the date! Below is the January meeting information. We will continue to meet virtually and the meeting is free to attend and open to members and those interested in joining. Please forward to your colleagues!
